There are many different types of assistance dog. There are also many misconceptions regarding service dogs, their training, and the law as it pertains to them. We focus on Stability, mobility and retrieval assistance K9s. After temperament assessment and basic obedience foundation training with a heavy emphasis on socialization in public settings, training is then focused on retrieval of dropped items or articles that need to be retrieved from a specific location. This type of assistance K9 is also trained to aid in the negotiation of stairways, and getting in and out of seated positions As well as recovery from a fallen position. NOTE: As with all assistance K9s there are always limitations to the skills of the individual K9. All interested parties should be prepared for an extensive interview process.
